How Our $100 Deposit Works (And When You Get It Back)
A plain-English explanation of the refundable deposit, what it covers, and when it hits your account.
We charge a $100 refundable deposit on every rental. Here's exactly how it works.
Why we require it
The deposit covers three things:
- Damaged totes — cracked walls or broken lids
- Missing totes — anything not returned at pickup
- Late returns — totes kept beyond the rental window
If none of those apply, you get the full $100 back.
How it's charged
The deposit is a second line item on your Stripe checkout, separate from your rental. You'll see it clearly labeled on your receipt.
When you get it back
After we pick up your totes and confirm the count, we release the deposit. Refunds are processed manually within 30 days of pickup, but usually much sooner — most customers see it back in 5–10 business days.
Where the refund lands
The refund returns to the same card you used at checkout. You'll get a confirmation email from us the moment it's released.
Common questions
- Do I need to clean the totes? A quick wipe if they got dirty. We handle full cleaning.
- What if one tote has a small scuff? Normal wear — no charge.
- What if I need to extend? Contact us before your pickup date. We'll work something out.
Questions? Email us or book your rental and we'll walk you through it at checkout.
