How Many Moving Boxes Do I Really Need? A Tulsa Sizing Guide
A room-by-room estimate for Tulsa apartments, condos, and houses — so you rent the right number of totes the first time.
The short answer
Most Tulsa moves fall into one of three buckets:
- Studio / 1-bedroom apartment (Midtown, Downtown lofts): 15–25 totes
- 2-bedroom apartment or small house (Broken Arrow, Jenks starter homes): 25–40 totes
- 3+ bedroom house (South Tulsa, Owasso, Bixby): 40–60+ totes
Our two packages — 20 totes for 2 weeks and 40 totes for 1 week — cover the majority of local moves. If you are on the fence, size up. Extra totes cost nothing to have on hand and everything to run out of at 9pm on move day.
Room-by-room breakdown
Kitchen — 6 to 10 totes. Dishes, glassware, pantry, small appliances. This is the densest room in almost every home.
Bedrooms — 4 to 6 totes each. Clothing folds into totes cleanly; hang-up clothes go on your car back seat or a wardrobe box add-on.
Living room — 3 to 5 totes. Books, media, decor. Furniture is separate.
Bathrooms — 1 to 2 totes each.
Office — 3 to 6 totes depending on books and paperwork.
Garage / storage — wildly variable. Add 5–15 totes if you have a full garage.
Why totes beat guessing with cardboard
With cardboard you buy what you think you need, then either run short or throw money at boxes you will recycle. Totes are flat-rate: you get the whole package, use what you use, we pick up the rest. No waste, no midnight U-Haul run.
